New York CNN Business —Thanksgiving weekend has historically offered a cornucopia of films, letting moviegoers get out of the house and kick back after eating copious amounts of turkey, mashed potatoes and pie. The North American box office has few new films this weekend that are likely to draw tons of moviegoers. Another Disney film, Marvel’s “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” is now in its second week and is set to win the holiday weekend with around $40 million domestically. For example, films like “Creed,” “Moana,” and “Knives Out” opened on Thanksgiving weekends and did well. As for Thanksgiving, Dergarabedian hopes that as the theater industry normalizes, the holiday will make a comeback.

Rarely does a Disney animated feature arrive in theaters with as little fanfare as “Strange World,” which is limping into the multiplexes like an afterthought to the slate of comic-book movies that have once again ruled the box office this year. “No one is talking about it,” the 14-year-old Disney obsessive in my household tells me. You’d think that at least one of us would have heard some discussion. Lack of enthusiasm turns out to be the correct mood in which to approach “Strange World,” a low-thrills adventure set in Avalonia, a secret civilization hidden in the mountains. The swashbuckling adventurer Jaeger Clade (voiced by Dennis Quaid ) clashes with his gentle, plant-loving son Searcher ( Jake Gyllenhaal ), then storms off during a quarrel and goes missing for 25 years.

LONDON, Nov 17 (Reuters) - Disney's new animated movie "Strange World" is an action adventure film with universal themes about family at its heart, says its star Jake Gyllenhaal. Gyllenhaal voices Searcher Clade, a farmer who grew up in the shadow of his larger-than-life explorer father and forged a very different path for himself. An environmental emergency threatening his crops forces Searcher, now a father himself, to embark on a mission in a faraway, strange world. "Strange World," which will be released globally on Nov. 23, was directed by Oscar winner Don Hall and written and co-directed by Qui Nguyen. Gyllenhaal will continue to explore family dynamics next year with his first book, a children's story called "The Secret Society of Aunts & Uncles," co-written with his friend Greta Caruso.

Din păcat,e mult nu întotdeauna înseamnă și bun. Astăzi, vreau să vă propun cinci thrillere, excelente în opinia mea, care m-au convins să mai revin pe Netflix. Un film cu patru Oscaruri: pentru cel mai bun film, cea mai bună regie, cel mai bun scenariu adaptat după romanul lui Cormac McCarthy și cea mai bună interpretare în rol secundar de Javier Bardem. Este un film foarte aproape de realitate, cu un casting surprinzător și cu o serie de personaje foarte bine dezvoltate. Spre final, nu mai știi cine e bun, cine e rău, dacă e adevărat sau e o minciună.
